When I receive letters from clients telling me how wonderful I made them feel on their wedding day, or how much they loved their wedding images, I feel a sense of completion with my artistry. All the hard work learning the craft, endless nights studying technique, hours and hours of planning the day, and the intense but enjoyable interaction with the clients themselves -- it all becomes so worth it when I receive testimonials like these.
The image featured in this testimonial was taken in Carmel, on the famous central coast of California. The sun had just set, and the recently wed couple decided to take a stroll down the sand before it got too dark. This image was taken moments before they started that stroll, as the bride took her husband's hand and began to lead him away from where I was standing. The way she grabbed her heart as they connected was very moving.
Thank goodness for modern technology! This image was shot at 6400 ISO opened to 1.8 on a prime L lens. It would have been impossible to capture with my older gear.
I'm proud of my artistry, but I have to give a lot of credit to Bryan & Faren -- what a kick ass couple. They were down for anything, and were so open to my instruction. But the cool thing is, they added their own twist to my suggestions, which was even better than simply following what I said. We had such a good working chemistry together. I will never forget working with them!
I love shooting at "secret spots". This image was taken at Carmel River State Beach, a hidden gem in this part of the coast. I photographed a few weddinsgs here, and each one seems to bring out a different kind of beauty in the beach.
